Data Foundations Sprint · £6,400 + VAT · fixed fee · 2 weeks

Lakehouse Analytics is a fractional data function for pre-seed to Series B startups. We start with a fixed-fee, two-week Data Foundations Sprint: your data in one place, your key metrics defined once, and reporting you can take into a board meeting. Then we stay on to run it with you.

Free intro call, no obligation, and you'll speak to the person doing the work.

Every startup gets a data mess. The only question is when you deal with it.

None of this is a failure. It's what happens when a company grows faster than its plumbing. But every month you leave it, the fix gets bigger and the decisions you make in the meantime get less reliable.

The cheapest time to fix your data is before you have much of it.

01

It costs less now.

Two weeks of setup at seed is far cheaper than untangling three years of conflicting definitions at Series B.

02

Your fundraise depends on it.

Investors ask for cohorts, retention and unit economics. Numbers you can rebuild from source and defend in a meeting carry weight.

03

Your first data hire starts at full speed.

They walk into a working warehouse and agreed metrics, not a pile of exports.

04

AI needs it.

Agents and copilots are only as good as the data underneath them. Get that right now and AI becomes useful later, not just a demo.

Start with two weeks. Stay as long as it's useful.

1 · Data Foundations Sprint

£6,400 + VAT

Fixed fee · 2 weeks · fixed scope

  • Your core sources (e.g. product database, Stripe, CRM, marketing) flowing into one warehouse, automatically.
  • 10–15 core business metrics agreed with you and defined once in code.
  • A small set of dashboards built on those definitions, covering the numbers your board and team ask for.
  • A plain-English data map and a 90-day roadmap: what to build next, what to ignore, and when you'll need a hire.
  • You own everything: your accounts, your code, your documentation.

2 · Retainer

Your ongoing data function

After the Sprint, most startups need someone to keep it running and answer the next question. A monthly retainer covers new sources and metrics, board and investor reporting, ad-hoc analysis, AI-on-your-data work, and hiring help when you're ready for an in-house team.

How it works

01

Intro call

30 min, free. You tell me what's going on. I'll tell you honestly whether the Sprint is the right step.

02

Scope

Within 48 hours. A one-page written scope: sources, metrics, deliverables, dates. Fixed fee, no surprises.

03

Sprint

2 weeks. Kick-off on day one, a short check-in mid-way, and working systems by the end of week two, not a slide deck.

04

Handover and decision

We go through everything together. Then you choose to keep going on a retainer, or run it yourselves with the docs.

Questions

Why not just hire a data person?

Eventually you should, and I'll help. But a first hire costs a full salary plus recruiting time, and they usually spend their first months building the foundations. The Sprint gets those foundations in place in two weeks, so your hire starts on analysis.

What tools do you use?

Modern, standard and affordable for startups: a cloud warehouse, a transformation layer for metric definitions, and a BI tool. Where you already use something sensible, I'll work with it. Everything sits in your accounts.

What if we're very early and don't have much data?

That's the best time. Less data means a faster, cheaper setup, and you start recording things properly from now on.

What happens after the two weeks?

You choose. Most teams keep going on a retainer so someone owns data each month. You can also take the documentation and run it yourselves. Nothing is locked in.

What do we need to give you?

Read access to your systems, about 2–3 hours of a founder's time across the two weeks to agree what the metrics mean, and someone who can approve access quickly.

Can you help with AI on our data?

Yes, once the foundations are there. AI built on agreed definitions gives answers you can check. AI pointed at a pile of exports doesn't. The Sprint is step one.

Get clarity early, while it's still cheap.
